The Weyburn Public Library will be launching a Seed Library on Thursday, May 24.

Regan Lanning will be speaking to attendees about garden planning. Each participant will leave the library with a newly planted seedling to take home to their own garden.

The event will be held in the Allie Griffin Auditorium at 7:00 p.m.

Organizers at the library will provide more details about the new Seed Library at the event.

Cora-Lynn Sexton, Children’s Programmer for the library, explained that it’s actually quite simple.

“Patrons can come choose some seeds from a variety of 22 seeds,” she said. “If there’s a certain type of seed they’re wanting, but only need a couple, they can come and check that out.”

The seed library will offer non-GMO flower seeds and vegetable seed free of charge.

“It will just be a great opportunity for those in the community who just don’t have as much access to seeds and want to start a garden,” Sexton added.
