A water main break along Park Avenue has caused the closure of St. Michael School today.

The City had attempted to keep water service going at the school by hooking up a temporary waterline, however, officials at the school said it couldn't keep up with the water needs of 500 students and 40 staff. They decided to close the school around noon. The water is expected to be back on tomorrow and classes resumed.

Crocus Plains Villa is also being affected by the water main break and officials there said despite not having running water, residents of the senior care home are being well cared for.

The nearby Canadian Mental Health Association building is open and has not been affected by the water main issue. They have running water and programs are running as usual.
