SaskTel recently announced the small cell site wireless tower in the town of Fillmore is officially up and running. The town of Sedley also went online in January.

“The Town of Fillmore and the immediate surrounding area will have improved cellular service. They had fringe coverage there, and this will improve their coverage significantly,” said Michelle Englot, Director of External Communications with SaskTel.

She explained what that means for residents of the area.

“More reliable cellular and high-speed or faster cellular download speeds for your internet access through your wireless device,” said Englot.

More towers in the area, she said, will be turned up by March 31st.

“We're going to continue to turn up these towers,” she said. “Fillmore is actually the 10th tower that we're turning up out of the first 50, and we have 40 more that we'll be turning up prior to the end of March 31, 2019.”

Other towns in the area scheduled to receive small cellular site towers are McTaggart, Midale, Lang, Sedley, Torquay, Kisbey, Odessa, Macoun and Manor.
