Nominations are now open for the annual Saskatchewan Volunteer Medal.

The Volunteer Medal is presented to an individual who has demonstrated selfless devotion towards volunteering within Saskatchewan. Saskatchewan has the highest rate of volunteerism within Canada and established the reward medal in 1995 as a way to recognize the work that volunteers put into the community.

The medal has been awarded to several Weyburnites in the past including Mal Barber in 2018 and April Samson in 2010.

The deadline for the Volunteer Medal nominations is October 18th and the Medal will be presented by the Lieutenant Governor at a ceremony in spring 2020.
