The City of Weyburn has a new engineer and he's already got a few new projects underway.

Nader Keshta came from Egypt to Canada 12 years ago. He talked about his time in the city so far.

"So far so good. I like Weyburn so much," explained Keshta. "I've been here since winter 2017 in a job for SaskPower."

Keshta was impressed by the amount of wildlife he saw in that position.

Keshta is currently working on Weyburn's water reservoir expansion and a proposal for the Ministry of Highways to make the intersection of Highway 13 and 39 safer. The Queen Street and Highway 39 intersection are also being worked on.

Keshta has worked as an assistant professor in Civil Engineering in Egypt and received his PhD in Saskatchewan.

"My Promise to Weyburn residents that we will work with you guys to make things better for you," added Keshta.
