Weyburn’s city administration has calculated how much it should charge the surrounding municipality for sewage treatment, once a new system has been built.

The Rural Municipality of Weyburn has been planning a regional septic receiving station. It would collect sewage from surrounding areas, which would then flow into the city’s system for treatment.

“Currently the way the numbers that the city has on file work out, the city should be charging about $9.58 per cubic metre, which is pretty close to in line with the average of six other cities in the province,” explained Weyburn’s Director of Engineering Sean Abram.

He added the R.M. of Weyburn is getting close to beginning the construction on their facility.
