Weyburn police are seeking information on a rash of vehicle break-ins on Ash Drive.

A series of incidents were reported last Thursday when a number of people reported having their vehicles being rummaged through with personal property, such as cash and credit cards, stolen.

Deputy Police Chief Rod Stafford said the best defense against being a victim of this type of crime is prevention.

"We just caution people to lock their vehicle," stated Stafford. "Rarely, if ever, is a vehicle broken in to in Weyburn that's locked by prying the door or smashing the windows out. These are very much crimes of opportunity and as these people or persons go down the street they'll try one door, if it's locked they'll go to the next one until they find one open and then they're going through the contents and moving on further down the block."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Weyburn Police Service.
