Vehicle accidents were prominent last week in Weyburn with the Weyburn Police Service responding to or assisting in four different accidents.

On June 19th, they assisted the RCMP with an accident on Highway 39 near Ralph in which a semi tractor trailer unit collided with an SUV.

The next day they responded to a vehicle roll over near the Pioneer elevator.

Both incidents are currently under investigation.

On Monday June 16, 2014 Officers responded to a domestic disturbance on 8th Street. It was determined that an argument had taken place between a 22 year old male and a 17 year old female. The female had already left the residence upon police arrival. There were no allegations of criminal behavior and with the parties separated there was no further action needed.

On Tuesday June 17, 2014 A 15 year old female reported that two 17 year old males had stolen her roller blades and long board. An officer located the 17 year olds, retrieved the items and returned them to the complainant. The situation was mediated without criminal charges being laid.

On Wednesday June 18, 2014 Police received a complaint of a vehicle leaving a business in which two children were sharing the same seatbelt. The vehicle was located the following day and the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. He was issued a seatbelt ticket and he was also warned about the complaint from the previous day.

On Thursday June 19, 2014 Officers while on patrol stopped a vehicle on 3rd St S. The driver exhibited signs of driving while under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently brought in to the Police Office for a breath test. The 23 year old male driver was issued a 24 hour suspension as a result of his readings.

On Thursday June 19, 2014 Police responded to an attempted break and enter on King Street. Both the front and rear door handles were damaged; however, entry was not gained to the house. The incident is under investigation.

On Thursday June 19, 2014, the Weyburn Police Service assisted the RCMP at an accident on Highway 39 near Ralph. A Semi Tractor Trailer Unit had collided with an SUV. The accident is being investigated by the RCMP.

On Friday June 20, 2014 the Weyburn Police Service received a call regarding a vehicle roll over near the Pioneer Elevator. The vehicle was located by police though the occupants were not at the scene. The subsequent investigation located the driver and passenger of the vehicle at a residence in Weyburn. The circumstance of the accident is being investigated by the RCMP. There were no injuries in the accident.

On Friday June 20, 2014 Police received a complaint of a vehicle driving erratically. The complainant stated the suspect vehicle was braking hard behind the complainant’s vehicle while driving on the street. The investigation located the offending vehicle and 26 year old male was warned about his driving actions.

On Saturday June 21, 2014 Police responded to a complaint of a fight in the Riverwood area. Two males, aged 23 and 24 were evicted from a party and ended up in a fight with other individuals from the party. Police separated those involved and removed the two males. No criminal charges were laid as a result of the fight.

On Saturday June 21, 2014 Police responded to an accident at 5th St and Prairie Ave. A West bound vehicle on Prairie Ave failed to stop at the stop sign and struck a North bound vehicle on 5th Street. The driver of the west bound vehicle was charged for failing to stop at the stop sign.

On Sunday June 22, 2014 Police responded to an accident at the Government Rd and Highway 39 intersection. An East bound vehicle and a south bound vehicle collided in the intersection. The one driver, a 35 year old female, was transported to Hospital with undetermined injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
