The Weyburn Police Service is looking for the public’s assistance in identifying a vehicle, or it’s driver, after an incident early Saturday morning.

Around 3:00 a.m. Saturday, an officer attempted to pull over a vehicle on Ebel Road. The location itself, and the time was the main reason for the officer attempt the traffic stop, according to Deputy Chief Rod Stafford.

“That particular area of town, there is nothing open at that particular time,” Stafford explained. “Ebel Road is a dead end road, so there’s really no reason for the vehicle to be there.”

The officer was looking to verify the identity and the sobriety of the driver. The truck, which is described as a 2007-2009 black Dodge quad-cab diesel, did not pull over, and when it became apparent to the officer the vehicle wouldn’t, he ended the pursuit.

Stafford added, it was noted the vehicle did not have a license plate visible.

“We’re not certain whether it’s a stolen vehicle, or whether the vehicle was involved in other crimes,” he said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Weyburn Police Service or Crimestoppers.
