Although the official first day of winter isn't until December 21, Weyburn was transformed into a winter wonderland this weekend thanks to the frost.

The fog that hung around all weekend made for the pristine white blanket of frost that Weyburn residents were out enjoying. Terri Lang with Environment Canada called it "freezing fog" and said it coats everything.

“The particles that you see are actually liquid particles creating the fog, and they’ll freeze to anything that is below freezing,” said Lang.

The fog is expected to lift by Monday. Lang said the southeast can expect arctic air to settle in next week, clearing out the fog. This will also mean cooler temperatures.
