Nicor Developers, who will be leading a new development in the City's Souris Valley area, is looking for input from residents at their upcoming open house.

Munir Haque, Development Manager with Nicor, explained.

"The open house will be taking place at the Canalta Hotel in their Meeting Room on April 12 between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. We plan on doing a short presentation near the beginning to introduce ourselves and going over the concept plan that we have going before City Council right now."

Haque says that they have been in discussions with the City for a while and have worked with a number of different options for layouts of the new community.

He thinks they have one that all of them are happy with right now, but they want input from Weyburnites first.

The new area will be named Riverwood.

Nicor purchased the 52-acre parcel from the City for approximately $260,000 plus development levies. The sale price was determined by the City's regular formula, which sells raw, undeveloped land for $5,000 an acre.
