The construction of the new Haig School playground wrapped up Wednesday, July 12th.

The Weyburn Credit Union played a big role in making this happen.

"We were actually approached by the Haig School to help them with a grant for their playground equipment and we were more than happy to do that," says Tana Torkelson VP of Marketing with the Weyburn Credit Union. "We actually approved the grant through our community funds."

Besides helping out financially, the Weyburn Credit Union also provided volunteers to help with the installation of the new structure.

"Often we just are able to write a cheque and then we go to the celebration so we don't actually see or be able to help with actually putting that money into the community," says Torkelson. "For me, it was really rewarding, I really enjoyed the day."

The playground will be a much-appreciated addition to the community.
