Zion Lutheran Church has been without a Pastor since the summer of 2016 but this has now changed.

Ministry duties have been carried out by Marge McLeod, Lay Leader with Zion Lutheran since then.

Victoria Mwamasika is the new Lead Pastor with Zion Lutheran Church.

"Weyburn is wonderful. They're good people here, I feel warmly welcomed," said Mwamasika

Faith and Victor, her two children are attending St Michael's School.

"I have been in Canada for 14 years. I moved from East Africa, Tanzania. 2003, I landed in Edmonton. I was there for seven years and then I moved to Saskatchewan a beautiful place."

Mwamasika previously ministered in Neudorf and Lemberg, Saskatchewan near Melville for seven years.

Mwamasika studied at the seminary at Makumira University, Tanzania. She came to Canada for further education at Newman Theological College in Edmonton.

"I want to be an outreach Pastor, I have been like that in both Lemberg and Neudorf."

"It doesn't matter if you are a member or not, I just want to reach people with a word of hope, comfort and love."

"I look forward to work here but also to meet people and other denominations of course. I have already met other ministerial members, they were very good and welcomed me."

Mwamasika is being officially installed as Pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, Sunday 21st, 4 pm and invites anyone who would like to, to go.
