It was an exciting return to caucus for Souris-Moose Mountian's Member of Parliament, Dr. Robert Kitchen.

“It’s great to be back in the house, we had a great day to start off with,” said Dr. Kitchen. “Unbeknownst to most of us, we had a Liberal who crossed the floor and has joined our caucus. And so, that’s great to see and we’re happy to have her on board.”

Kitchen said Richmond Hill MP Leona Alleslev received a warm welcome to the Conservative Party.

“It was quite exciting actually," he said, noting he was just passing through on his way to a meeting when he was told something was about to happen in the House.

“It was really exciting to see her stand up, and stand up on principles,” he said. “She defended our country as a Captain in the Royal Canadian Air Force, and she brings a lot of years of senior private sector leadership and experience to our team.”

“She pointed out that, even within her caucus, that Justin Trudeau has failed to assure Canadians that he understands the struggles and hardships that they’re experiencing,” he added.
