There’s no better place for a refreshing cold snack today than at the Weyburn Dairy Queen. It’s the 16th Annual Miracle Treat Day that raises money for children's hospitals.

Owner of the Weyburn Dairy Queen, Shane Dammann, says the money they donate will stay in Saskatchewan.

“During Miracle Treat Day participating dairy queen locations across Canada will donate proceeds from every Blizzard sold to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network member hospitals. Donations made in support of Miracle Treat Day stay in the community where they are raised to help local kids,” said Dammann.

Over 650 stores Dairy Queens across Canada and the United States will team up this year to help raise some money.

The money raised in Saskatchewan goes toward the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital in Saskatoon. Last year over $2 million was raised across Canada.

Dammann hopes they can raise even more money in 2018.

“In Saskatchewan last year we raised over 250 thousand dollars,” he added.

Funds donated goes toward research and training in children’s hospitals, as well as buying equipment and helping with some of the cost surgeries and operations. Miracle Treat Day’s mission is to impact as many kids as possible.

Dammann shares a similar goal and vision for this year's version of the fundraiser.

“We just want to sell as many blizzards as we can and raise as much money as we can for the foundation,” he stated.

Miracle Treat Day runs until 10 p.m. on August 9th.
