Hilltop Manor on South Hill hosted the Weyburn Humane Society's Annual General Meeting last night.

Animal numbers for the past year were part of the President's Report and the cat numbers were quite positive overall.

"We had 152 felines adopted, 32 farm felines, 42 felines were claimed by owners, seven felines were returned adoptions and 15 felines were euthanized," said Pam Arndt-Schick, President of the Weyburn Humane Society.

The dog numbers for the year were also quite good.

"We had 37 canines adopted, 126 canines were claimed by owners, four canines were returned adoptions, eight canines were relinquished to us and one canine was euthanized."

Animal control calls were also in the President's Report.

"Out of all the animal control calls we had, there were 333, including two rabbits, one turtle, one reptile and one guinea hen," added Arndt-Schick.

The Humane Society hopes to find a new building to move into sometime this year and was recently told by the SPCA that they are currently the
cleanest Humane Society in all of Saskatchewan.
