Maybe it's simply not the library you remembered was open, but there's no easier way to keep in fresh books, movies, and other forms of entertainment in the dead of winter than to take advantage of the local library.

The Weyburn Public Library has options for those who wish to access materials, even for those who don't want to go inside the building. Branch Manager Katherine Wagner said, however, they are set up for some local traffic.

"We've had a hard time getting the word out, like, a lot of people come in and they're like like, 'oh, we didn't know you've been open', but we've been open to the public since September, so people are welcome to come in and browse the shelves, but if you want to stay safe, you're not comfortable doing that, we can also do Curbside pickup," she noted.

Wagner said those who did know the library was open were the ones who use it all the time.

"Homeschooling families are some of our most popular patrons," she shared. "We have people who are in just about every day."

For those who like to keep busy with new projects throughout winter, Wagner explains how you can take advantage of their 3D printer.

"You have to do a quick 20-minute training session, and then you'll send us the file of what you'd want to print, and we print it for you and then you come pick it up," she said. "We do have to charge for that, because the filament the printer uses is quite expensive, so we do charge twenty cents per gram of whatever you're making."

Whether you're staying home and browsing available physical materials to pick up, or you're browsing in person, the library has a variety of audio books, books, DVDs, Blu-Rays, video games, and magazines available to borrow. However, if you just want to stay home, there are numerous, if not infinite, resources available online.

"Through the Southeast Regional Library website, we have access to all kinds of e-books, e-audio books, even movies, magazines, academic articles, just about anything you can think of," Wagner shared.

She added the movie site, Hoopla, does play movies at no charge, but there are certain limits in place.
