Today is the last day of the 50/50 for Kids, which means it's your last chance to get a ticket for your chance to win half of the jackpot and support the Family Place.

“We are really looking forward to our final day of sales here, the 50/50 the last three weeks has been super fun,” said Dawn Gutzke, Executive Director with the Family Place. “Thanks to everyone in the community who has come out and purchased tickets. We are over $30,000, so half for the Family Place, half for the lucky winner.”

The tickets are available at one location only today.

“We are located at the Credit Union all day, we have lots going on, it's going to be super fun,” she said. “So I really hope that whoever doesn't have a ticket is able to stop by Credit Union and help us out, maybe get our sales up a little bit higher and get those funds higher for us.”

Tickets are $20 each or 6 for $100. The jackpot started out this morning at around $30,000, which Gutzke said will be put to good use.

“Last year we used it to upgrade our family program,” she explained. “So it was a really great way to give back to the community, because lots of families in the community come in and use those family programs free of charge, without having to pull their wallets out, so that was nice, to be able to upgrade those programs from two days to four days a week.”

She shared the Family Place’s plans for this year’s funds.

“This year, we're actually hoping to maybe invest some of the 50/50 money into equipment upgrading, so some new slides and play structures and just uplift our playroom that the families get to enjoy,” she said.

Head on down to the Weyburn Credit Union between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. today for your tickets.

The draw will be made on Monday, March 25th.
