Anyone who's out enjoying the Tatagwa Trails around Weyburn may have noticed some newly paved areas on the ones in River Park.

Adam Hoffart, Public Relations Coordinator for the City of Weyburn, said the work was needed in the area.

"They are constantly maintaining the trails and I do believe that this was part of the process to re-beautify the trail there, they did need some work, you know there were some gravel sections, so a lot of the gravel sections now have been repaved," he explained. "There were a couple of spots there that was actually just gravel, and that could have happened from wear and tear of the trails and the way the water runs down the hill, it could have washed away some of that, so just needed some repairs."

He said the trails are there for anyone who wants to enjoy them.

"Walking and biking, I do believe you could use roller blades as well, it is fairly smooth, that trail, especially now with those gravel spots taken out," Hoffart noted.

He added dogs are welcome as well, of course, if they're on-leash.

The Tatagwa Trails consist of the Souris Valley, Red Coat, Silver Heights and Signal Hill trails, which connect throughout the city. Find a map HERE.
