Natural health and healing modalities are becoming more common in the city. That is evidenced by the success of the Weyburn Natural Health and Healing Expo, which is in its 10th year. It took place at Knox Hall on Friday and Saturday.

Organizer Colleen Marcotte said the event has definitely evolved over the years and she believes this is due to the fact that people are more open to trying something new and are seeking more out of life.

"People are more open to looking at alternative ways of enhancing their life, whether it's through alternative healing or maybe finding some guidance in meditation, more people are open to looking at different possible natural ways of handling things in their life," shared Marcotte, who also owns and operates Higher Conscious Connections in Weyburn.

The expo included different types of healing modalities such as Sho-Tai, which Marcotte said is the reading of a client's eyes, teeth, and tongue. There was also an iridologist, a Qigong practitioner, a few people practicing Reiki, and those offering tarot and oracle card readings. There were also workshops taking place throughout the event and several health and metaphysical products available for purchase as well.

About 300 people attended the event.
