Envision and Counselling Support Centre held their 24th Annual General Meeting Tuesday evening in Estevan.

"This year has been another year of growth for the organization," shared Outgoing Chairperson, Tami Scott. "Envision Counselling and Support Centre continues to fill a huge need in our four communities and all of southeastern Saskatchewan."

"Every year we just seem to grow and grow. It's kind of a double-edged sword. It's sad that the services are needed but it's a blessing that Envision Counselling and Support is there to provide the needed services."

"Our financial situation is always a bit dodgy. We rely completely on our funders and this year we added fundraising to the mix by being involved with Savour the Southeast. It's a challenge every year to give our staff the benefits they deserve, to continue to operate in as many communities as we do and still make the case to our funders how important it is that we need their money."

While the majority of clients who use the services of Envision are women, they are seeing an increase in the number of men they are serving. That doesn't surprise Scott.

"It was a few years ago that the organization started to really approach men. They did some work a few years ago in the oil field making sure that they knew about our services and you can see from the results that a lot of the outreach work that they did a few years ago is really paying off."

Scott added that they are continuing to narrow their focus and work with partners to provide services.

Due to a bylaw, this was Scott's last year at Envision and she stepped down as chairperson.

"When I got asked six years ago if I would like to come on this board, it was very good timing. I was really pleased to come on and it has been six very fulfilling and rewarding years. It's tough to be done. It's a great organization and I'm very proud of this organization."

Envision elected a new Chairperson, Tracey Kiliwnik. They also elected a new secretary, Kristin Dupuis, and Brian Piloud will take over as the new Vice Chairperson and Treasurer

They have offices in Weyburn, Estevan, Oxbow, and Carlyle.
