The Easter bunny may want to throw a toque on over its large ears this weekend when it heads out. According to Environment Canada, things are expected to get pretty chilly.

"To begin, we've got really cold air moving into the province. The coldest air looks like it'll be in place Thursday night through southeast Saskatchewan, with lows forecast to be around minus twenty three and then a high of minus twelve for Friday," shared Regional Meteorologist John Paul Cragg.

"If you compare that to normal for this time of year...a normal high is plus seven and a normal low is minus five...we're looking at temperatures quite a bit colder than average, maybe even close to twenty degrees colder."

"That cold air looks like it's going to stick around, probably for the next seven days, thought it will moderate a little bit," he added.

A system is also expected to make it's way through the region on Friday, bringing up to 5-10 centimeters of snow and some wind, and thus poor driving conditions.

"Through the weekend it looks like the skies clear out and conditions are a little bit nicer, minus the fact that the cold air is still sticking around. Then by Monday, there's a chance of another system passing through the southeast corner of the province, bringing potentially another 5 centimeters of snow," Cragg said.
