City Curator Regan Lanning said, in addition to a group mural painting project, they'll also have other Culture Days elements such as food, crafts, demonstrations and more.

"Throughout the whole arts wing, we have a number of other art activities going on, the Weyburn Woodcarvers will be set up with demonstrations of how to do wood carving and the Metis Saskatchewan Local 87 will be here with Metis cultural examples, as well as beading kits," she shared.

"In the kitchen, we're going to have some culinary cultural offerings we have Metis soups and Bannock, we also have some Filipino delicacies, as well as German food, and that's in the Community Kitchen."

She noted the Weyburn Public Library will have a Maker Space set up in the gym of Legacy Park Elementary School.

"Weyburn Rotary is also in there with their Artists of Rotary silent auction, as well as a fundraiser for the club, a jewelry sale, and then also the Weyburn Quilters are there, doing some sewing live skills," she added.

Lanning said the Weyburn Pottery Club will also be showing off their brand new pottery studio and will share with the interested public how to get involved.

Additionally, anyone can join in on an interactive post-it cultural clipboard.

"We are asking people to identify cultural activities from within their own lives," she noted, saying if you're not into hockey, it's hard to define 'Canadian' culture.

"My family came from Scotland for generations ago, but I don't particularly enjoy haggis, and I don't dance the fling," she shared. "So what are my cultural touchstones?"

She said those culturally significant remnants of her heritage are gardening and berry picking.

"So you know, asking Canadians to take a deep breath and to figure out what their cultural activities actually are."
