The provincial government reported there were 552 new cases of COVID-19 reported on Sunday, a new single-day high in Saskatchewan. There were also three deaths related to COVID. 

Of the new cases reported Sunday afternoon, 15 were in the Weyburn area, bringing the number of active cases for the subregion up to 124. In all of southeast Saskatchewan, there were 36 new cases and 317 active cases. 

Of the new cases reported across the province, 466 were in those who are not fully vaccinated. This included 117 children under the age of 12. There were 214 new cases in people between the ages of 12 and 40, and 221 new cases in those over the age of 40.  

Vaccinations continued to go up, in advance of the mandates that will take effect on October 1st. There were 2,153 new first doses of a COVID-19 vaccine reported Sunday and 1,740 second doses. This puts the total number of fully vaccinated people in Saskatchewan to 729.097, or 61.9 percent of the total population. 

In Southeast Saskatchewan, there were 222 first doses of a COVID-19 vaccine reported and 142 second doses. So far, 55.5 percent of the total population in the South East region is fully vaccinated. This is the third-lowest of all the regions in the province, outside of the Far North.

There are also five pharmacies in Weyburn that are offering vaccines. This includes the pharmacy at Prairie Sky Co-op, Price-Rite Drugs, the Weyburn Health Centre Pharmacy, the Pharmacy at Wholesale Club and the pharmacy at Wal-Mart.
