A rare Tuesday meeting of Weyburn City Council was the second and final meeting of April 2019. A relatively quiet meeting did award the Official Community Plan contract to PSArchitecture Partnership.

The Regina firm's proposal came in at $43,724.25, which was well under the $70,000 budget for the project. The consultation firm will assist the city with planning for the future growth and the future of zoning bylaws, which may need to changed or amended.

It will start in the coming weeks and last until the end of the calender year. The firm will assist the city in all facets and provide recommendations moving forward.

It will be the first consultation in such a capacity since 2003.

Other motions passed included two home occupations that will be allowed to move forward. One a bookkeeping and web design business, the other a hobby craft sales business.

The City also granted the Weyburn Beavers a liquor permit for the upcoming 2019 season.

Lastly, City Council voted and unanimously passed a motion to lower the number of meetings in both July and August from two to one.

The next meeting of Weyburn City Council will be on Monday, May 13.
