Development on South Hill

This spring brings a busy construction season for Weyburn and the City wants citizens to be safe.

"We're starting to see The Creeks begin work. As this is located at Coteau Avenue, which is a residential road, we are having them build a construction access, however until that access is constructed here within the next couple weeks there will be heavy vehicles going down Coteau, east of 16th, and I encourage people to ensure that they are keeping their children safe and that they are properly instructed about how to look for vehicles until we can have that temporary road put in to ensure that there is no more access through the residential area," says Martino Verhaeghe, director of planning and development for the City of Weyburn.

Riverwood developers at the former Souris Valley grounds have expressed concern over residents driving through their construction access only roads. This is dangerous as the site has open excavations and heavy machinery in motion.

The City has restricted access of heavy machinery working on the Douglas Heights development on South Hill. These vehicles will be restricted to Tenth Avenue South.
