The Canadian Mental Health Association in Weyburn is partnering with ACCESS Communications to enable local youth to make a movie.

We are asking youth ages 10 to 18, if you have any interest in acting, writing, even filming, editing, if you like music or write your own music, we have to score the movie as well, so if you just like movies in general, and want to be involved," said Tasha Collins, Program Director with the CMHA Weyburn branch.

Registration began on October 1.

"I know we've already got a few people registered and we are really excited about that, and we are also looking for other people within the community who may have experience in some of these areas who may want to mentor the youth, so we're always looking for volunteers as well."

"The first few months, we're going to be concentrating on writing the script and building characters, and that part of the movie, then we'll move into pre-production, production and post-production, so for now we will be concentrating on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45 to 6:00 p.m.," she noted.

She said eventually they'll add extra times to their schedule and they'll also be likely in need community extras.

Anyone who wants to get involved can call the CMHA office at 306-842-7959.
