When it comes to child seats, one of the key things to keep in mind is the proper installation. The Weyburn Police Service has members of the force who are trained by SGI on how to properly install car seats, and they are more than willing to help out the public. Deputy Chief Rod Stafford explained in the past week, they have helped out at least one parent.

“The person thought they were installed properly, came down to check, and found out that in fact, they weren’t,” Stafford said. “Good for them for reaching out and making sure that the seats were installed properly, giving their kids the best chance for safety should a collision happen.”

With a limited number of police officers in Weyburn having had the training, an appointment is necessary to have a car seat installation checked by the Weyburn Police Service. To make an appointment, you can contact Cst. Kalin Wiebe at the Weyburn Police Service through the non-emergency number, (360) 848-3250.
