Weyburn City Council will be meeting Monday evening and will be back in the chambers.

For the first meeting back in chambers, which starts at 5:00 p.m., there will be a lot on the agenda, with proposed bylaw changes, presentations, reports and zoning inquiries.

The biggest item on the agenda, in the eyes of many, will be some proposed changes to the City of Weyburn’s traffic bylaw. Some of the proposed changes include altering the speed limit in school zones from being around the clock to 12 hours a day, and the addition of recreational areas to the list of areas with a reduced speed limit.

Councillors will also receive a delegation from Envision Counselling and Support, discuss changes to the zoning requirements for the Riverfront Market area and zoning changes to allow for a cannabis retail store in highway commercial areas.

You can see the complete agenda here. We will have coverage of the meeting for you starting tomorrow morning.
