It's a chance for the community to save a life.

The Canadian Blood Services are holding a blood donors clinic in Weyburn on March 21. It will be held at Knox Hall and runs from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

"We are low (on blood) right now. there's recently been some changes in the eligibility requirements, particularly for women. They used to be able to donate every 56 days and that's gone up every 84 days. And men need a little bit of a higher hemoglobin count to donate, so it's been a significant hit, we're certainly noticing the effect of that now," said Katherine Wasylynka, the territory manager for Regina and Southern Saskatchewan for Canadian Blood Services.

Wasylynka also noted that they are particularly in need of Type O Negative blood.
