Around 40 motorcycles roared through the streets of Weyburn on Saturday for the 31st annual Santa Claus Toy Parade, collecting toys for the Weyburn Salvation Army.

The event is held by the Weyburn Independent Riders motorcycle group. They were joined by other riders from across the southeast, including members of the Harley Owners Group (HOG) out of Regina.

An estimated 500 toys were collected during the rally and three days prior when organizers Laurie Norman and Gord Hemphill held toy collections outside of local businesses.

"With the community's support we're able to ensure that every kid in Weyburn and surrounding area will have a good Christmas and have some toys to open up on Christmas morning," shared community ministeries coordinator Jennifer Lorinczy with the Salvation Army.

She said that the Weyburn Salvation Army typically supports around 100 children at Christmas time.

"If it wasn't for these toys, some kids would get nothing for Christmas."

The parade began in the parking lot at Jubilee Park and winded its way around town before ending at River Park.
