The Cornish Family of Kevin and Crystal have been in Edmonton since November 2017 while their son Nolan had heart surgery to prepare the holes in his heart he was born with in the spring.

There have been several fundraisers for the family to help cover bills in recent months.

On Saturday, a fundraiser took place at Knox Hall. There was an auction, the band Switch performed and a supper.

"It went very well, we did end up selling 118 tickets," explained Contessa Hill.

Hill said they had quite a few auction items given from various businesses in town and people gave donations if they couldn't make the event.

Due to the amount of auction items donated, they did a raffle auction except for one item.

"We had one item come in worth $750 so we did do a live auction right then and there for that one."

"We raised $4,280 to date."

Hill appreciates all the support for the fundraiser as Knox Hall donated the use of the building, Switch played for free and the sound was also donated by Travis.

The Cornish's are staying in the Ronald McDonald House in Edmonton while Nolan stays in hospital.
