3:15 p.m.:  The scene is mostly cleaned up, and traffic is down to one lane.

Corporal Craig Park with the Estevan RCMP explains what happened.

"We were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident involving an eastbound semi that collided with a southbound single car at the Highway 47 and 39 intersection."

"Traffic is down to a single lane going east and west while the tow truck clears the scene," he added.

At this time, Park says the investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.

All occupants of both vehicles walked away from the incident. Their current status is unknown, but it appears no one was seriously injured in the collision.

He advises the public to slow down and watch for emergency workers.


2:15 p.m.: A serious motor vehicle accident has occurred at the intersection of Highway 47 North and the truck bypass.

A collision involving a semi trailer and a passenger vehicle. 

Enough debris was left on the highway to halt traffic travelling down the Estevan truck route bypass.

Emergency personnel, including the Estevan Fire Department, RCMP Combined Traffic Services, and EMT are on the scene.

The vicinity is expected to be closed until at least 4:00 PM.

The public is asked to avoid the area.
