Seventeen gymnasts from the Airbourne gymnastics club in Weyburn travelled to Humboldt this weekend for their first competition of the season. The girls brought home a total of 21 medals; six gold, six silver and nine bronze medals.

In the Junior Olympic level 3 (2008), Khloe Higgins participated in her first competitive meet. She was ninth on vault, eighth on bars, beam, floor and all around out of nine girls.

There were three gymnasts in the Junior Olympic level 3 (2007) group. Callie Dammann received a bronze medal (3rd place) on vault and bars, sixth place on beam and floor and fifth all-around out of nine gymnasts. Emily Davis was ninth on vault, fourth on bars, seventh on beam, fifth on floor and sixth all-around out of nine gymnasts. Rachel Keller from Fillmore received a silver medal (2nd place) on vault and was ninth on bars, beam, floor and all around out of nine gymnasts.

In vault, Weyburn's competitors are Alianna (first), Breanna (fourth) and Lia (seventh).

Three gymnasts competed in the Junior Olympic level 3 (2005-2006) group. It was their first competitive meet. Alianna Higgins received a gold medal (1st place) for her vault, fifth place on bars, sixth place on beam, and a bronze medal (3rd place) for her floor routine. She was fifth place all around out of seven gymnasts. Breanna Pettapiece was fourth on vault, seventh on bars, fifth on beam and floor and sixth all-around out of seven gymnasts. Lia van der Meulen from Riceton was sixth on vault and bars, seventh on beam, floor and all around out of seven gymnasts.

Five gymnasts participated in the Junior Olympic level 3 (2004) group. Zoe Brooks received a gold medal (1st place) on vault, bars, beam, floor and all around out of five gymnasts. Shakira Stanford from Midale received a silver medal (2nd place) on vault, bronze medal (3rd place) on bars, silver medal (2nd place) on beam, bronze medal (3rd place) on floor and a silver medal (2nd place) all around out of five gymnasts. This was Shakira's first competitive meet. Adrienne van Staveren from Griffin was fourth on vault, silver medal (2nd place) on bars, fifth on beam, silver medal (2nd place) on floor and received a bronze medal (3rd place) all around out of five gymnasts. Lana Hamel received a bronze medal (3rd place) on vault, fourth on bars and beam, fifth place on floor and fourth place all around out of five gymnasts. Halle Robins received a fifth place on vault and bars, a bronze medal (3rd place) on beam, fourth place on floor and fifth place all around out of five gymnasts. This was Halle's first competitive meet.

Weyburn' gymnasts are Rachel (second) and Callie (third) place on vault.

There was a lone gymnast in the Junior Olympic level 4 (2008-2009) group. Brittney Honig received a bronze medal (3rd place) on vault, fourth on bars, beam, floor and all around out of four gymnasts one her first competitive meet.

Three gymnasts competed in the Junior Olympic level 6 (2007-2009) group. Julie Rush was fifth on vault and bars, sixth on beam, fifth on floor and all around out of 10 gymnasts. Brooke Hodgson from Lang was eighth on vault, seventh on bars, fifth on beam, seventh on floor and sixth all-around out of 10 gymnasts. Alexie Daviduk was seventh on vault, sixth on bars, 10th on beam, ninth on floor and eighth all-around out of 10 gymnasts.

One gymnast participated in the Junior Olympic level 7 (2007 and before)group. Abby Pratt from Radville received a fourth place on vault, bars, beam, floor and all around out of four gymnasts.

The girls will be competing again this weekend in Saskatoon at the Marian competition.
