Weyburn Comprehensive School had all six volleyball teams away at tournaments this weekend, and they are coming back with a number of medals.

The senior girls’ Eagles held their home tournament at the school on the weekend. The team played their way into the final, where they met up with Lloydminster. It would be the team from the Border City who would take the title, though, winning the final match 2 games to 1. The Eagles took home the silver medal.

The senior boys’ were in Swift Current on the weekend. After a rough start Friday, falling to Fox Valley and Meadow Lake in the round robin, they caught fire Saturday morning, winning their final two round robin games against Saskatoon Centennial and Regina Campbell. In the first playoff game, they topped Oxbow in two sets, before falling to Balgonie in the next game, ending the tournament.

The senior teams will be playing in the Co-op Challenge on Wednesday at Weyburn Comprehensive School. The two teams will be playing against the Estevan Elecs. The games will be in the Eagles Gym. The second leg of the Co-Op Challenge is in Estevan on October 11th.

The junior boys’ were in Moose Jaw, where they came back from their tournament with a gold medal.

A silver medal for the junior girls’ as well. They were at a tournament in Moosomin, where they fell to Rocanville in the final.

The freshmen girls traveled to Brandon for a tournament. They finished 1st overall in the round robin and finished the tournament with a win over Portage in the final. The Eagles took the match in three sets, winning the final 15-11 for the gold.

The freshmen boys were in Yorkton for the tournament on the weekend. They captured the gold medal.
