It wasn’t the weekend Team Saskatchewan was hoping for at the U21 National Men’s Baseball Championships in St. Thomas, Ontario.

After a strong showing in their opening game, beating Nova Scotia 6-2, Team Sask dropped their final three games of the tournament, missing out on the playoffs round.

After the win over Nova Scotia Friday morning, Friday evening they played the host team from St. Thomas, Ontario. The home team took the early lead, and while Saskatchewan scrambled back, they were unable to tie the game up, falling 6-5.

Saturday, Saskatchewan played Windsor, Ontario. The team from Windsor took an early lead and held on for a 4-1 victory. Team Sask had a short turnaround, as they played Team Quebec right after. While Saskatchewan took the lead in the first inning, Quebec rallied back and won the game 6-2.

Team Saskatchewan was coached this year by Weyburn’s Bert Kauf.
