Wednesday was a relatively quiet night in the SJHL with just one game on the schedule. The Melville Millionaires travelled up to Melfort to take on the Mustangs. It would be the home team holding on for the win, as the Mustangs collected a 2-1 victory.

Justin Ball, who leads the SJHL with 68 points in 38 games this season, had a goal and an assist in the game. Jake Hobson had the other goal for Melfort. Tanner Zentner chipped in two assists.

The Millionaires’ lone goal was courtesy Luke Spadafora. Since joining the Millionaires, Spadafora has 17 points in 20 games.

With the win, the Mustangs edged closer to the Nipawin Hawks for first in the Sherwood Division, and are solidly in fourth place overall in the SJHL. The Millionaires sit just three points up on the Weyburn Red Wings for 10th place in the overall standings, with Weyburn having two games in hand.

There are no games scheduled Thursday night in the SJHL before things pick back up again on Friday with a full six-game slate.
