For the second consecutive year, the SJHL and MJHL will have a joint showcase. After last year's success, the mini-tournament held in front of fans and scouts will take place in Regina once again.

Each league selects three "all-star" teams to go head-to-head in two exhibition games. Teams nominate their own players and then coaches from within the league choose which players will be selcted to take part. One team is made up of 16, 17 and 18-year-olds. While the other two teams are constructed of the top 19 and 20-year-olds in the league. The showcase offers a chance or players to put their talents on display in front of scouts against the best of the best.

The two-day event takes place at the beautiful Co-operators Centre in Regina on January 14 and 15. Last year seven Weyburn Red Wings represented the SJHL at the showcase, including five returning players. Cade Kowalski, Ben Hiltz, Jordan Kazymyra, Dylan McCabe and Jevon Schwean will more than likely all be up for selection again this year. The SJHL dominated the event last year, winning five of six games.

"The SJHL is extremely excited about the opportunity to collaborate with the MJHL by showcasing the top players in a new event that gives our players a chance to showcase their skills and abilities for Scouts from all higher levels of hockey," SJHL President Bill Chow said in a news release.

Rosters will be announced later on in January.
