There were three games in the SJHL Tuesday night, and all three of the match-ups carried playoff implications.

In Humboldt, the Broncos played host to the Flin Flon Bombers, who started off a four-game, five-night road swing. The Bombers had the lead after the opening 20 minutes, but the Broncos rallied back and held off Flin Flon for a 3-2 win.

With the win, the Broncos are now two points up on the Battlefords North Stars for second in the Global Ag Risk Solutions Division and four points up on the Flin Flon Bombers in the overall standings.

The Kindersley Klippers were on the road, travelling to Nipawin to take on the Hawks in a match-up of two of the best teams in the SJHL.

The Klippers were looking to extend their winning streak to five games and needed overtime to do it, as they skated to a 2-1 win.

With the victory, the Klippers are now five points back of Nipawin for first in the SJHL, with three games in hand. The Klippers are also two points up on Humboldt for first in the Global Ag Risk Solutions Division.

The third game of the night saw the Notre Dame Hounds playing host to the Estevan Bruins.

The Hounds scored first in the game but were unable to capitalize on the power play when needed, falling 3-1 to the Bruins.

With the win, Estevan extended their lead for first in the Viterra Division to six points with seven games remaining on the season. The Hounds remain in a tie for eighth place with the Yorkton Terriers.

With the teams entering the final stretch before the end of the regular season, the playoff picture is starting to take shape.

With eight games remaining for Yorkton and Notre Dame, it is looking more and more likely the two teams will be meeting in the best-of-three wildcard round. Weyburn and Melville are battling for the 10th seed, who will have to face one of the top calibre teams in the league, as there are just four points separating fourth from seventh.
