After a successful international debut, para-cyclist Keely Shaw is being recognized by her home province. The Midale native was nominated for March Athlete of the Month by Sask Sport Inc.

Shaw placed fifth in the C4 individual pursuit, and tenth in the C4 500m at the World Para-Cycling Championships in Rio De Janeiro last month.

Shaw is now preparing for her next race. She will be starting off the road race season in Montreal later this month.

The Athlete of the Month for March was Saskatoon’s Kurt Oatway, who won gold in the men’s super G sitting event at the Winter Paralympics.

Also nominated was Marie Wright from Moose Jaw in curling, Prince Albert’s Brittany Hudak in para-Nordic skiing, Quinn Neald from Regina in boxing, Euan Litzenberger in Judo and Saskatoon’s Julianne Labach in athletics.
