A bronze medal for Weyburn’s Rhett and Aiden Krafchuk. The two brothers were playing with Team Saskatchewan at the U15 National Baseball Championships in Prince Edward Island on the weekend.

Saskatchewan started the day taking on Quebec in the semifinals during the afternoon. The bats were working for both teams, but it would be Quebec coming out on top with an 11-9 victory. This moved Saskatchewan on to the bronze medal game in the evening, where they would play Ontario.

In the bronze medal game, the two teams exchanged runs in the first inning, before Saskatchewan began to pull away in the second and third, building up to a 6-2 lead. They would hold on to take the game by a final of 8-4.

The medal is Saskatchewan’s first medal at the U15 championships since 2010, when they won bronze in Vaughan, Ontario.
