It's the biggest question in Saskatchewan right now, who will be starting at quarterback for the Roughriders on Friday night when they open their season against the Toronto Argonauts.

The Riders have two capable players at the quarterback position with Zach Collaros and Brandon Bridge. Head coach Chris Jones doesn't plan on revealing which one of them will be starting for the team ahead of Friday's game.

"I've known for two weeks how we're going to play, but I ain't telling y'all until we get ready to play," Jones told reporters on Tuesday. "Why would I give something like that up to our opponent where they could know exactly what we're going to do, doesn't make good sense.

"I know how we're going to play, our quarterback knows how we're going to play and you'll find out when we play the game exactly how they play."

Collaros, who took the majority of the first team snaps on day one of practice Monday, said he would be preparing the same whether he's starting or not.

"I'm just going out and practicing every day and trying to get better every day," said Collaros.

"You just have to worry about what you're doing personally and if you do that, your teammates see that and follow you and whoever is out there will follow you."

Both Collaros and Bridge struggled in limited action during the final preseason game last Friday. Collaros said they need to get better at the details coming out of that game.

"It's a process, it is every single year and we have to get better every single day," said Collaros. "The smallest details came really add up."

The Riders will kick-off against the Toronto Argonauts at Mosaic Stadium on Friday night at 7 p.m. to open the 2018 CFL season.
