The Weyburn Red Wings making a deal ahead of Saturday's CJHL trade deadline, swapping defensemen and draft picks with the Melville Millionaires.

The Wings will be adding 20-year-old defenseman Eric Soar to the lineup, Soar is in his fourth season in the SJHL, having played with Nipawin and Melville. This season, has a goal and nine assists in 27 games, with 36 penalty minutes. So far in his SJHL career, he has 64 points in 170 games, with 112 penalty minutes.

McCabe was in his 3rd year with the Wings. The 19-year-old from Regina had 14 points this season with the Wings, including two goals. In his time in the SJHL, McCabe has posted 31 points in 98 games.

The two teams also swapped draft picks. The Millionaires sent a third-round pick in the 2020 Bantam Draft to Weyburn, with Melville receiving a 4th round pick in the 2019 draft.
