Following the crazy conclusion to Saturday night's game between the Weyburn Red Wings and the Flin Flon Bombers, reaction poured in from around the league and around the country. With a few videos being shared online from the fights, it didn't take long until thousands had seen the melee.

The key piece for the video quickly becoming a viral hit was the goalie fight between Riley Lamb and Flin Flon's Pierce Diamond. Goalie fights are a rare, but awesome treat for hockey fans. Lamb was a combatant in his first career fight, but you'd never be able to tell based on the evidence below.

That video was featured on TSN's website BarDown, as well as on air. It was also picked up by Spittin' Chiclets, a popular hockey podcast with a loyal following. Aside from those two outlets, many other hockey pages and accounts shared the fight and by Sunday morning hundreds of thousands of Canadians had seen Lamb lay a lickin' on Diamond.

"It's kind of cool, obviously you don't go into a game thinking you're going to get into a goalie fight. It's kind of cool being on Spittin' Chiclets, it's a pretty funny show and stuff like that. Obviously TSN everyone watches it, it's kind of neat and it's a dream come true. You want to be on there playing in the NHL, but I guess you'll take what you can get.," Lamb said with a chuckle. "A couple of my buddies actually texted me and they loved it. It was kind of cool to be the guy they're all talking to about it."

Lamb has been a force this season in goal and has been the topic of conversation many times for his spectacular saves through nine games. For the first time in his hockey career, the talk is about his fists and not his play.

"I've never been in a fight before. It was a first for me for sure. I've fought my billet Dad a few times in the basement, but never on the ice," he said. "I guess I'm 1–0."

With a handful of his teammates also involved in the brouhaha, it was a team-building kind of moment that could help the Wings get out of their current three-game slide. Carson Scheschuk, Tristan Petrie, Garrett Szeremley, Ty Brown and Jevon Schwean all dropped the mitts and arguably got the better of their dance partners. Lamb is hoping this is something the team can rally around.

"We had a pretty good talk after the game I think and we all understand that losing isn't an option and it's not something we strive for. The fighting really brings you together as a team," the tendy said. "I think we're going to be a force here coming up. We're back on the right track."

The Red Wings will have a chance to snap their losing streak tomorrow night in Wilcox when they take on the Notre Dame Hounds. Lamb, however, will not be in the lineup. It's expected he, Brown and Schwean will all be suspended and unavailable for tomorrow night's contest.
