A new deal for Weyburn’s Derrick Pouliot. The defenseman has signed a one-year, one-way deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins for $800,000.

Pouliot has played 67 games in the NHL, picking up 14 points. His first NHL game was in December of 2014 and scored on his first ever shot. He played 34 games in his first season and was named the Penguins Rookie of the year. Since his debut, he has played 33 games, picking up seven assists.

He has also spent time with the Wilkes=Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League. He has 70 points in 114 games and was picked for the AHL All-Star game in 2015 and 2016.
