The Flin Flon Bombers are on the brink of elimination, after the Battlefords North Stars picked up a 2-1 win in overtime Tuesday night. The win gives the North Stars a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven SJHL Canalta Cup Finals.

The Battlefords opened the scoring in the second period, when Keaton Holinaty scored his tenth of the playoffs, assisted by Layne Young, and Ben Allen. Holinaty was skating on the top line, filling in for Coby Downs who was handed a one game suspension for a gesture towards a Bombers player in game two Saturday.

The Bombers would reply halfway through the third period, when Jordan McCausland scored his third of the post-season. Troy Williams and Mason Etter were credited with the assists on the powerplay goal.

Neither goaltender would give up a goal in the dying stages of the third period, so the game went to overtime. Just 10:41 into overtime, the North Stars were able to pick up the win, when Connor Logan scored his seventh of the playoffs, assisted by MacGregor Sinclair.

The win was the first time this postseason the North Stars had been taken to overtime in the playoffs, and the first game since game four against Weyburn they won by a margin of only one goal.

Game four of the series is Wednesday night, at the Whitney Forum in Flin Flon.
