The Wings jumped out to an early lead when Mabee put the puck past Rayanne Mckenzie jus 7:15 into the opening frame. Kierson Hennes picked up the assist on the goal. The Gold Wings would extend the lead four minutes later when Sydney Keddie score. Madison Lafoy and Mahteya Dumelie assisted on the goal.

Before the first period was out, though, the Hounds would reply. Olivie Leier scored with 24 seconds left on the clock. She was assisted by Ally Kosteniuk.

It was followed up with Janes’ second goal of the game, with Young assisting. Gilroy then scored shorthanded with 8:27 remaining, and the scoring for the period was rounded out as Kosteniuk notched a power-play marker with 1:51 left in the period.

The Gold Wings would reply in the third, but it would be too little too late. Keddie scored, her second of the weekend, with Dumelie assisting.
