The regular season wrapped up Saturday afternoon for the Midget AA John Hulbert Construction Wings. Already knowing their fate for the post-season with the number three seed, the game would have more of an impact for the Regina Vics, their opponents at Crescent Point Place. It would be the Vics who came out on top, as they picked up a 4-1 victory.

The Wings were the first to get on the board, though. Matthew Anderson scored just before the halfway mark. His power play marker came with 10:25 left on the baord, with the assist going to Brogan Schmeltzer.

Regina replied before the period was out, though, when Dawson Parker beat Mathew Dutchak. The Vics extended their lead to 2-1 in the second period, when Lucas Dureau scored halfway through the frame. The Vics would add two more goals in the third to round out the scoring.

With the win, the Vics punched their ticket to the playoffs, finishing seventh in the SSMHL. They will open the postseason against the Regina Rangers. For the Wings, they will be taking on the Notre Dame Argos, who wrapped up the regular season in 6th place.

The dates haven’t been set yet for the best -of-five quarterfinal series.
