The Midget AA John Hulbert Construction Wings picked up another road win Tuesday night. They topped the Regina Rangers 3-1 at the Al Ritchie Arena in Regina. With the win, the Wings improve their season record to 5-7-1.

Neither team was able to get on the board in the first period. Matt Dutchak turned aside all the shots he faced for the first half of the game. At the other end, Rangers netminder Boston Gelowitz didn’t allow a goal until the six-minute mark of the second period, when Brogan Schmeltzer found the back of the net. The goal, which was assisted by Hudson Hall, was Schmeltzer’s third of the campaign.

Regina would reply less than five minutes later. Will Blake would score on Dutchak. It would be the only goal Dutchak allowed, as he shut the door for the remaining 29 minutes.

The Wings would regain the lead late in the third. Rylan Neiszner got the puck past Gelowitz with 1:45 left in regulation. The game-winner was assisted by Kyle Perras and Axel Lund. Sam Chittenden would then add an empty-netter with 20 seconds remaining to round out the scoring for the Wings.

The next game for the Wings will be Sunday. They head to Moose Jaw to take on the Midget AA Warriors at the Bert Hunt Arena.
