The Midget AA John Hulbert Construction Wings are one win away from advancing to the SSMHL semi-finals. Jaxon Robertson stopped all 43 shots faced, as the Wings shut out the Notre Dame Argos 5-0. The win gives the Wings a 2-0 lead in the best of five quarterfinal series.

Weyburn got on the board late in the first period, when Gavin Doud scored on the power play with 1:13 left on the clock. Kyler Douglas and Kyle Perras assisted on the goal.

It became a 2-0 game at the 8:55 mark of the second period when Mitchell McDonald tallied for Weyburn. Douglas, along with Braden Birnie, recorded the assists. Five minutes later, it was 3-0, as Matthew Anderson scored for the Wings, with Brogan Schmeltzer getting the assist.

In the third period, the Wings scored their second power-play goal of the game, with Braden Birnie finding the back of the net. Doud and Douglas assisted. The final goal of the game came two and a half minutes later, with Todd Johnson scoring, as Perras was credited with the helper.

Game three of the series is set for Sunday night in Weyburn. The puck drops at Crescent Point Place at 7:15 p.m.
